Malahayati, graduated from Humaniora Faculty Universitas Indonesia in 2003. She studies photography at Galeri foto Jurnalistik Antara in 2001 and selected for Photojournalism workshop that hold by World Press Photo Foundation and Isee in 2004-2005. She had work editorial and commercial photography for several Mass Media and Company such as Prospektif (business magazine) Gatra (news magazine) and Deteksi Indo (major music event organizer). Her work published in several media such as Tempo, National Geographic Indonesa, Asian Geo etc. And she jointed many Photo exhibition, a few it “Indonesia Dream “ at Erasmus Huis 2008, “Mata Perempuan” at TIM Cipta gallery 2006, Jakarta Biennale 2009. She holds her solo photo exhibition at instituto Italiano di cultura Jakarta in 2008. This exhibition “Statement of Soul” is about veil/jilbab/hijab (moslem women dress according to Islamic rule) fashion and its culture in Indonesia. Now malahayati ia a mother for a 5 years old son and trying to pursuit again her passion in documentary photography.
